The Bible tells us that Jesus can’t be a simple prophet or an angel because He is:
- The good shepherd (John 10:11-18)
- Sinless (1 Peter 2:22, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Hebrews 4:15, 1 John 3:5, Isaiah 53:9, 1 Peter 1:18-19)
- Holy (Luke 1:35).
- The Saviour of the world (👉 “Who can save us ?”)
- Venerated as God (👉 “Who can be praised and worshipped ?”)
- Divine (Isaiah 9:6, 👉 “Jesus identifies himself as God”, “The God Father confirms that Jesus is God”)
and that all humans are sinful:

If we read all the chapter we see that the rich men that kept the law all his life get’s very distressed when Jesus ask him to sell everything to the poor and take “his cross” and follow Him in order to have eternal life.
For those who think that they can be saved by their deeds (works):
Why just keeping the law is not sufficient for this men salvation ? Why he need to give all his life to Christ to have eternal life if Christ wouldn’t be God ❓
Then Jesus tells to the disciples that the humans cannot saves themselves but only God can save them.
Moreover, in the next verses, Jesus claims to be the one that saves the humanity ❗
şi oricare va vrea să fie cel dintâi între voi să fie robul tuturor. Ca si Fiul Omului n-a venit ca sa I se slujeasca, ci ca El sa slujeasca si sa-Si dea sufletul [viata] rascumparare pentru multi.
Si a zis lor: Acesta este Sangele Meu, al Legii celei noi, care pentru multi se varsa.

Dar nu pot să se răscumpere unul pe altul, nici să dea lui Dumnezeu preţul răscumpărării. Răscumpărarea sufletului lor este aşa de scumpă, că nu se va face niciodată. Nu vor trăi pe vecie, nu pot să nu vadă mormântul.
Dar mie, Dumnezeu îmi va scăpa sufletul din Locuinţa morţilor, căci mă va lua sub ocrotirea Lui.

In conclusion, Jesus question to the the rich man can be translated as: “Do you realize that making me good you confirm that I am God ?”.
